Seth recently attended the annual meeting of the British Ecological Society – Movement Ecology special interest group. The conference was a fantastic sample of the current state-of-the art of movement ecology in human-dominated landscapes and there were numerous interesting side discussions. Seth presented his team’s work on how a major highway indirectly influences the movement behaviors of female and male Mojave desert tortoises differently — with bad news for female tortoises. He’s currently working on a manuscript based on this work, so stay tuned!
