Common pitfalls and missed opportunities in data analysis

Seth recently presented a talk at the annual meeting of the Oregon Chapter of The Wildlife Society titled, “Common pitfalls and missed opportunities in the application of information-theoretic methods in wildlife ecology”.  The focus of the talk was to share examples of common mistakes and missed opportunities in how wildlife ecologists apply this family of statistical methods (e.g., AIC model selection).  The talk was well received and the Executive Board invited Seth to give a longer workshop on a similar topic at next year’s meeting.
