Seth has participated as the biometrician helping to develop a greater sage-grouse Habitat Quantification Tool to accurately measure both habitat function that is lost due to development and habitat function that is gained via on-the-ground conservation projects in Colorado. This Exchange represents a novel results-driven approach to conservation and mitigation and is expected to be replicated in other western U.S. states for greater sage-grouse and in U.S. states nationwide for other wildlife species (e.g., mule deer, monarch butterfly, etc.). Development of the habitat function quantification portion of the exchange is being tested and documented in a manuscript in preparation.
