Heron Ecological, LLC and Seth Harju were contracted to provide ongoing statistical and analytical support for a multi-year research project in Nevada assessing patterns and dynamics in site occupancy of desert tortoises.  The result of this project will be used to improve conservation of desert tortoise populations in areas subject to urban and ex-urban development.
